Updates are included
The launcher installs new versions by itself, nothing to download. Lobbies only show up on the same version, so the whole crew updates together.
- 1.3.0Latest
Voice and marks
- Voice chat right in the game: hold V and talk. You hear a friend from their avatar, quieter from afar and muffled through a wall or from a closed car. Any one player can be muted in the player list of the pause menu.
- Marks in the world: the middle mouse button marks a spot, a car or an item. Friends see the mark and how far it is, and an arrow at the screen edge when it is behind them. A double press places “Over here!”.
- A guest who leaves and comes back finds themselves where they left, down to their seat in the car, with the same money and needs.
- The launcher has a “Something broke” button: a report with the logs reaches us in one click, and after a game crash the launcher offers to send one itself.
- The launcher got tidier and lighter: blurred background under dialogs, keyboard control, clear “no internet” and “site not answering” screens, and next to no CPU load in the background.
- Playing together needs the same version: both of you update, the launcher does it by itself.
- 1.2.1
Water and night
- Water moves at the game’s own pace, and the night got darker and more honest.
- All over the map, spots where water stood instead of forest are fixed, and trees no longer grow in ponds.
- Players on different Kimppa versions no longer end up in one game through a Steam invite either: both of you update, the launcher does it by itself.
- 1.2.0
Free demo
- You can try Kimppa before buying: 2 hours of play for free, once per Steam account. Everything is open, co-op included, and after buying you carry on without losing anything.
- Licences are more reliable: access renews by itself, and one licence can no longer be shared between several accounts.
- Every downloaded copy of the mod carries its own mark.
- 1.1.2
More FPS
- Water reflections are drawn only when water is in view, no needless shadows at night, and the once-a-second stutter from scene searches is gone. At night on maximum graphics near Peräjärvi FPS went from 45 to 84.
- No more black sky dome at sunset and in storms, and the forest by the shop no longer stands in water.
- The boat now takes three: the driver at the motor, a passenger lounging by the side and one more at the bow.
- Seats in the Ruscko, Hayosiko and Gifu are fixed, and a hitchhiker in an NPC car is visible to everyone.
- The launcher no longer resets graphics settings when you switch presets.
- 1.1.1
Fonts and the launcher
- After leaving an online game for the main menu, fonts no longer turn into garbage and Russian keeps working.
- Prices and litres at the gas station and the inspection signs are fixed too.
- If the game crashes or is killed, the launcher no longer thinks you are still playing and gives the Play button back right away.
- The Kimppa stamp no longer covers the loading screen.
- 1.1.0
New graphics
- Sky, clouds and morning mist, lakes with reflections, 3D trees instead of flat backdrops, ground textures, HDR and SMAA anti-aliasing.
- Headlights, brake lights and indicators glow, and the dipped beam lands on the road like a real headlight.
- At night house windows and street lamp bulbs glow, the lamps cast shadows and fires flicker in the fireplaces.
- In the rain the main road and the yard’s concrete get wet and reflect the light. Lightning lights up the ground and the clouds.
- Reflections are taken from where you stand. Traffic cars have glossy paint, power line pylons cast shadows, and grass no longer grows through the asphalt.
- The Original, Enhanced and Maximum presets switch with F7 right in the game.
- 1.0.8
Clean Russian
- Russian fixed: on the loading screen, in subtitles, teletext and forms, Latin letters, digits and punctuation no longer turn into garbage.
- The loading screen text is in Russian too.
- 1.0.7
The game in Russian
- Menus, subtitles, hints, teletext, recipes, the computer and newspapers in Russian.
- Catalogues and signs too: opening hours on the doors, Fleetari’s price list and the order form.
- Cyrillic letters added to the game’s fonts.
- Switch the language in the menu. The translation only changes what you see, so a friend playing in English sees everything as usual.
- The players panel in the pause menu is in Russian too.
- 1.0.6
Sitting straighter, quieter flies
- Seats: avatars sit on the seat cushion under the roof. They used to float 10 cm above it and 15 cm in front of the backrest.
- Moped: the camera sits at the game’s own height, and the rider no longer sinks into the scooter.
- Ferndale: the automatic selector (P R N D 2 1) is in the same position for everyone. It used to stay in P for the others.
- Comfort in the launcher: make flies quieter or silent, and dirt build up half as fast or five times slower. Only for you.
- If another mod loader (MSCLoader, BepInEx) is in the game, co-op won’t start and the launcher shows how to switch it off. We only read the game files.
- 1.0.5
Clean seating
- Enter puts you straight in the seat with the camera facing forward.
- Others see the driver’s hands on the wheel, feet on the pedals and gear changes.
- 1.0.4
Fresher graphics
- A sky from real photos, sky lighting, soft shadows in corners, haze and colour.
- 3D grass.
- Original, Enhanced and Maximum presets: in the launcher and with F7 in the game.
- 1.0.3
Bug hunt
- After the first two-player game we hunted for the same kind of bugs across the whole game: found 20, fixed 12.
- The doors of Fleetari’s shop, the water treatment plant and the Peräjärvi flat are now shared.
- Window cranks on the Ferndale, Hayosiko, Gifu and Ruscko work for everyone.
- The fish trap no longer gives two fish for one, and wood in the carrier counts once.
- The kilju buyer pays as he should, and punches and pushes land where they were aimed.
- 1.0.2
A three-step launcher
- A new launcher: Steam sign-in, the game folder, Play.
- The mod downloads when you press Play, and only for an account with a licence.
- 1.0.1
After the first two-player game
- Garage doors are in the same position for everyone.
- Getting off the trailer, the tractor roof and other ride spots works properly.
- A guest takes a log from the pile without it doubling.
- You see your friend swing the axe and sway after a drink.
- 1.0.0
First release
- Co-op for My Summer Car: lobbies of up to eight players through Steam.
- A licence belongs to a Steam account. Before playing, the mod checks every licence in the lobby.
- Cars, the Satsuma, jobs, the shop, the house, police, rally and quests are shared, while needs and wallets stay personal.
