A car on the verge, its driver leaning on the roof

Everything is fair. Even the beer.

We went through the game chain by chain and decided, for each one, who is in charge and what the others see. Below, topic by topic: what works, how it feels together and where the catch is.

What is shared and what is yours

Shared

  • cars and the Satsuma down to every bolt
  • the shop, bags and the beer crate
  • jobs and their pay, if you were there
  • the house, lights, water and sauna
  • weather, traffic, the train and the moose
  • rally, drag racing, dances and quests

Personal

  • hunger, thirst and fatigue
  • dirt and drunkenness
  • your wallet, though money can change hands
  • tickets and being wanted
  • game language, graphics and Comfort settings
The gas station at night, wheels lying by the pump

Cars

One drives, the others take the free seats. Passengers play with the radio, argue about the route and are the first to notice the wrong turn.

  • Lights, high beams, hazards, wipers, windows, bonnet and boot match for everyone.
  • Fuel is used by whoever drives, and anyone can top it up.
  • If you crash, everyone inside crashes. Everyone sees the candles at the crash site.
  • When Fleetari tows the car away, everyone gets out.
  • The others see the driver’s hands on the wheel, feet on the pedals and every gear change.
  • Car died on the road? A friend ropes it to theirs and pulls while you steer and brake. The rope snaps just like in the game.
The Satsuma shell in the yard, sunlight through the leaves

The Satsuma

One fits the carburettor while the other hunts for the 10 mm wrench. Building it together is faster, and swearing together is more fun.

  • If two of you reach for the same slot, the part goes to whoever was first.
  • You can’t take a part off while your friend is driving the car.
  • Bolts, dents, a cracked windscreen, fluids and fire match for everyone.
  • The engine hoist and Fleetari’s lift are shared.
  • Orders from Fleetari and the rally parts seller arrive for everyone.
The farm: a tractor under the shed and a trailer in the yard

Jobs

Firewood, the septic tank, deliveries, the farmer and the junkyard. Faster together, and only the people who were actually there get paid.

  • Pay is split evenly between the players who worked nearby, not the whole lobby.
  • Your friend can ride on the firewood trailer or the tractor roof, sitting the right way.
  • A guest can chop wood too: the log appears for everyone, and exactly one of it.
  • Wood in the carrier counts once, not once per player.
The house at sunset, the sun behind the trees

House and sauna

Lights, water, fuses, power and the sauna are shared. So is a house fire, and you’ll put it out together.

  • Lights, water, fuses and power in the house match for everyone.
  • The sauna is shared too.
  • Everyone sees a house fire.
  • Anyone can open the garage doors, and they are in the same position for all.
  • Hunger, thirst, fatigue, dirt and drunkenness stay personal.
  • Everyone has their own sleeping bag: unroll it anywhere on the map, and once everyone lies down you all fall asleep together.
Teimo’s shop at sunset with a yellow car outside

Teimo’s shop

The shop serves everyone. Purchases go into one bag, and every wallet is separate.

  • What you buy is in the bag for everyone.
  • Food and beer can be eaten or drunk only once.
  • Money can be handed over: walk up to a friend, hold a key and pick the amount.
  • You can drop a wad of cash on the ground. Whoever gets there first picks it up.
  • The lottery and slot machines work too.

Police and the world

Police go after whoever broke the law. The speeder gets the ticket, while the friend sits on the roof and watches.

  • Tickets and being wanted go to whoever sped or hit someone.
  • Traffic, pedestrians, the train, the moose and storms match for everyone: the host runs the world.
  • Brawlers at the dance hall go for the nearest player, and that player takes the punch.

Rally and events

Rally, drag racing at the airstrip, the dance hall, theatre and soccer. Compete, or cheer from the roadside.

  • Rally sign-up, stages, standings, penalties and the trophy are shared.
  • At the drag strip you can race each other: two lanes, one set of lights and one board for everyone.
  • The dance hall, theatre and soccer work for the whole lobby.

Quests and hitchhikers

Phone calls, Ventti with the pig, the graves after a crash and hitchhikers. The village reacts to all of you.

  • Calls and quest chains are the same for everyone.
  • Ventti with the pig is played together.
  • A hitchhiker takes a free seat, not the lap of whoever is already in it.
  • The home computer is seen only by whoever sits at it. Looking over a shoulder in the game is awkward anyway.

Players

Your friend is not a mannequin. He sits, runs, holds the wrench, swings the axe and sways exactly as you see it.

  • Poses, sounds and tools in hand are visible to everyone.
  • You see the axe swing, and a drunk friend sways on your screen too.
  • Punches and pushes land on whoever they were aimed at.
  • Chat opens with the T key.
  • Voice chat: hold V and talk. You hear a friend from their avatar, quieter from afar, muffled through a wall or from a closed car.
  • Marks in the world: the middle mouse button marks a spot, a car or an item, and friends see the mark with its distance.
  • The game can be in Russian: menus, subtitles, teletext, newspapers, catalogues and signs. Language is per player, so a friend can stay in English.
Two friends inside a car: the driver and a passenger

Seats

Press Enter and you sit straight in the seat with the camera facing forward. The others see you the same way: hands on the wheel, feet on the pedals.

  • Avatars sit on the seat cushion under the roof instead of floating above it.
  • On other screens the driver holds the wheel, works the pedals and changes gears.
  • On the moped the camera sits where the game puts it, and the rider no longer sinks into the scooter.
  • The Ferndale’s automatic selector (P R N D 2 1) is in the same position for everyone.
  • Getting off the trailer, the tractor roof and other ride spots works properly.
  • The boat takes three: the driver at the motor, a passenger by the side and one more at the bow.

Launcher

The launcher finds the game, signs you in through Steam and updates the mod when a new version is out. And it has Comfort.

  • Three steps: Steam sign-in, the game folder, Play.
  • Without a licence the demo starts: 2 hours of play for free, once per Steam account. After buying you carry on without losing anything.
  • It can install updates by itself: one checkbox.
  • The “Something broke” button sends us a report with the logs in one click.
  • Graphics: Original, Enhanced or Maximum. In the game, F7 switches them.
  • Comfort: make flies quieter or silent, and dirt build up half as fast or five times slower. Only for you.
  • If another mod loader (MSCLoader, BepInEx) is in the game, co-op won’t start and the launcher shows how to switch it off. It only reads the game files.

No risk

Play 2 hours free, then decide

The demo opens everything, co-op included: bring your friends and see for yourself. Like it? A licence is $12.49 once per Steam account, updates included.

Refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not joined a co-op game with the mod since buying it. If you played the free 2-hour demo to the end, we refund only for technical problems we could not fix.
